    Wanted to love this – good for lap swimming, not for diving. – Swim coach rec this strap after the bungee style strap gave my swimmer headaches. Although this strap felt more comfortable than the bungee, she complained about her goggles not being tight enough to stay in place while diving off the blocks. We had decided to keep these for lap practice, and switch to bungee for meets, but then one end came unsewn while re-threading onto the goggles, and then the braid unraveled, making it unusable. Some others on our team had better luck with these, but for us it wasn’t a good fit.

    Easy to install replacement strap that works well – I love the Smack Strap so much. Once upon a time the goggle manufactures sold replacement straps, but not so many do any more. I have a favorite pair of goggles (Nike brand) that I don’t want to replace. The original strap wore out so I replaced it with a Smack Strap, the Smack Strap wore out, and I have replaced it with another. I’m going to keep buying a new Smack Strap every year for as long as the goggles last. I got about a year of regular use out of the first Smack Strap, but I don’t soak my goggles after I swim and it would probably last longer if I did. I know that some people soak everything to extend the life as much as possible, which I understand with the price of a swim suit, but I don’t bother with the goggles.

    BEAUTIFUL STRAP – My daughter loves Smack Straps. They’re stylish, comfortable, and keep her goggles pinned to her head without pressing too hard like regular goggle straps. These metallic ones are beautiful! Got the silver and the gold. Also have multicolored ones too. The problem with normal straps is you have to get them just right or either water gets in or they leave really bad marks. These, when tightened properly, give a bit so they can be a tad looser while still doing their job. The only two things I would recommend: 1) offer the flash and the gold metallic on prime (shipping is too much, particularly since I bought two and they charged shipping for both); and 2) switch to a flat toggle (like what they have on some shoe laces) that lays flat to the head to prevent drag.
